eBay was ordered to pay LVHM $61.3 million

A French court ordered EBAY to pay LVMH Moët Hennessy $61.3 million in damages for allowing counterfeit goods to be sold on the auction site.

After a two-year legal process the Paris Tribunal de Commerce found eBay guilty of gross misconduct in failing to prevent the sale of fake products.

eBay announced that it will appeal the decision. It said it has always removed listings if they were counterfeit and blames Louis Vuitton for its problems saying that it continues to use an outdated business model.
