Rapper Rev. Run Featured On Oprah Winfrey Show

Talk show mogul Oprah Winfrey hasn't received much love from the Hip-Hop community lately. Minor incidents with Hip-Hop stars such as Ludacris and Ice Cube has the billionaire deemed a Hip-Hop hater by many, but hopefully an appearance by a Hip-Hop legend on Winfrey's show will silence critics.

Joseph "Reverend Run" Simmons
from the legendary Hip-Hop group Run DMC made a special appearance on The Oprah Show to discuss the upcoming season of his reality show Run's House. "Gayle King is a friend, and she kept telling Oprah, 'Man, there's this show with Reverend Run, and he writes these words of wisdom', and she was talking to her for awhile about it until she finally said, 'Okay, let's have him on the show'," Reverend Run told AllHipHop.com.

'Star Wars' Stamps Ready To Take Over Your Mail

The 30th "Star Wars" anniversary will be celebrated with a set of iconic stamps featuring the well-known characters of the "Star Wars" movies, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and R2-D2.

The US Postal Service unveiled 15 new first-class stamps featuring the whole gang from Chewbacca to Darth Vader, which were previewed at the Graumans Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

"'Star Wars' is just an American icon," said Rodger Matcham, a "Star Wars" fan and co-owner of UC Comics in Palm Desert, "I think it's awesome."

Designed and painted by Drew Struzan, the same artist who created the "Star Wars" posters for all six movies, the stamps will go on sale on May 25 at a "Star Wars" fan convention in Los Angeles, after a contest to choose the most popular of the stamps.

"Star Wars" geeks, philatelists and other stamp enthusiasts can vote at www.uspsjedimaster.com for their favorite design.

In addition to the stamps, it was announced earlier this month that about 400 million mailboxes around the country were designed to look like R2-D2. Fans have already posted snapshots of themselves with the funny-looking mailboxes on starwars.com website.

The Postal Service also plans to sell "Star Wars"-themed Express Mail envelopes, available May 6. They feature Darth Vader, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi as played by Ewan MacGregor.

Toasting Simmons' new KLS line

Kimora Lee Simmons doesn't do anything small. So she swept into L.A. fashion week in a big—no, major—way, hosting a private dinner at Social Hollywood for pals like Tyra Banks, Garcelle Beauvais, Sanaa Lathan, Djimon Hounsou, Brian McKnight, Devon Aoki, Tisha Campbell, Michael Ealy, and Kim Kardashian for the L.A. debut of her new line, KLS.

The fall show, which also took place right after at Social, was full of cute wearable dresses, skirts, and tops. "Perfect for L.A. nightlife," proclaimed Beauvais. "And I should know—nobody shops this town more than me!" Lathan's brother deejayed, and as usual, dancing followed dinner in one of Social's private rooms upstairs. "Who says you can't wear shorts in March?" asked Tyra Banks, to which her hostess responded, "Honey, you can wear anything you want, when and wherever you want!"

Kimora herself blew kisses to the photographers on the red carpet in a white KLS dress for the new collection, and was thrilled to be showing in Hollywood. "This new collection is perfect for the L.A. lifestyle," she declared. "It's for the star in everybody. And in L.A., everybody's a star! Actually, they are in New York, too!"

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has entered rehab.

NEW YORK - Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has entered rehab.

"Marc made the right decision," Jacobs' longtime business partner Robert Duffy told Women's Wear Daily, which reported the story on its Web site Monday.

Jacobs had previously acknowledged in interviews that he abused drugs and alcohol.

"He'd been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away," Duffy said to the industry newspaper. "According to the experts, such a relapse isn't uncommon. Thankfully, Marc recognized the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him."

The confirmation that Jacobs was at a treatment facility came on the day that Jacobs received two nominations from the Council of Fashion Designers of America for its upcoming awards. He was nominated in the womenswear and accessories categories.

And those honors were on the heels of three well-received previews of fall collections — one for his namesake brand in New York, one for the younger — and less expensive — Marc by Marc Jacobs label in London, and one in Paris for Louis Vuitton, owned by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA.

Jacobs is known as a bellwether for upcoming trends. In New York, his fashion shows are always packed with celebrities, with music stars Rod Stewart, Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone, Harry Connick Jr. and Debbie Harry most recently lining the runway.

Mills to accept £29m settlement

A tabloid newspaper has claimed Heather Mills will accept a £29m divorce settlement from husband Sir Paul McCartney.

The estranged couple are currently ironing out the details of their separation - including who gets custody of their daughter Beatrice.

The former Beatle and the former model announced they were to separate in May last year after four years of marriage.

Since then the column inches on their private lives have been adding up as the press speculates over how much of Macca's reported £800m fortune Heather will walk away with.

The News of the World claimed on Sunday that Heather had accepted a cash settlement of £25m and the couple's £4m London home.

The newspaper also said the couple would share custody of their child.

Walt Disneys first BLACK Princess

This is 2007, I'm totally shocked this is happening now, and that they're making a big thing about it which means it's been an issue.

The Walt Disney Co. has started production on an animated musical fairy tale called "The Frog Princess," which will be set in New Orleans and feature the Walt Disney Studio's first black princess.

The company unveiled the plans Thursday at its annual shareholders' meeting in New Orleans.

John Lasseter, chief creative officer for Disney and the Disney-owned unit Pixar Animation Studios, said the movie would return to the classic hand-drawn animation process, instead of using computer animation that has become the industry standard. He called the film "an American fairy tale."

"The film's New Orleans setting and strong princess character give the film lots of excitement and texture," Walt Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook said.

Disney said its new animated princess Maddy will be added to its collection of animated princesses used at the company's theme parks and on consumer products.

The film is set for release in 2009.

How did this take so long to happen? LOL

Rap superstar LL Cool J is in negotiations to represent popular lip balm brand, Chapstick. The negotiations are part of a brand extension strategy for artists LL Cool J and 50 Cent, which is being launched by Violator Artist Management.

According to industry trade magazine Brand Week, both LL Cool J and 50 Cent are seeking to leverage their popularity as celebrities, through various endorsement deals. "It's an obvious fit. LL has been licking his lips for 20 years," Lighty told Brand Week. "They'll get to speak to people who normally would not pick up Chapstick."

In addition to his possible deal with Chapstick, LL is seeking to endorse a vitamin supplement to capitalize on his popularity in the fitness/training market, since his book LL Cool J's Platinum Body hit stores in Dec. 2006.

Violator client 50 Cent is in negotiations with Glacéau Vitaminwater to star in the company's first national TV ad campaign.
