Kylie Minogue’s new line for Hermes and Mauritz

The Australian pop singer the newest star to join up with Swedish fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz, inspiring a limited swimwear line to debut in mid-May, the company said in a statement this week.

Minogue, 38, didn't actually design the "H&M loves Kylie" beachwear line, but contributed ideas and will appear in ads.

The '60s-inspired collection is "all about summer indulgence, effortless chic and lots of fun!" Minogue said on her Web site.

The line includes blue-green bikinis, scarves, and a slinky silver swimsuit priced at $24.90.

"When we think Australia and glamour we think Kylie," said H&M’s design head Margareta van den Bosch in a statement.

Minogue is known for such hits such as "Loco-Motion" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head," and recently resumed performing after treatment for breast cancer.

She was an underwear model for H&M in 1998, company spokeswoman Lisa Sandberg said Friday.

Madonna recently co-designed a collection for H&M that went on sale in March.
